2012. It was an epic year for the UK. The furious flag waving, cake baking and street partying of the Diamond Jubilee. The über excitement and pride at our success in the Olympics, the man who literally fell to earth, breaking records for the highest free fall ever…. However, it was also an epic year for Jo & James, Helen & Duncan, Lindsey & Alastair, Angela & Vincent, Katie & Sid, Richard & Tommas, Nicola & Michael, Michelle & Ben. Jane & Alan, Rob & Nick, Fiona & Chris, Amanda & David, Caroline & Troy, Janie & Olivier, Guilia & James. Katie & Paul, Emily & Tom, Lindsay & David, Cassandra & Raymond, Hannah & Patrick. Jessica & Paul, Aimeé & Andy, Audrey & Steve, Zee & Nameer, Louise & Kevin, Sinéad & Jon. Angela & Ferrice, Mel & Rob and Rachel & Dan because they all GOT MARRIED.
I was the lucky photographer entrusted with documenting these couples’ big day, and travelled far and wide in order to do so. 2012 saw me in London, Berkshire, Lincolnshire, Surrey, Kent, Somerset, Hampshire, Gloucestershire. Leicestershire, Essex, Devon, Oxfordshire, Yorkshire, Sussex, and even sunny Spain. I photographed weddings in stately homes, country barns, city hotels, parents’ gardens, village churches, town halls. In weather that sunk marquees, turned gardens into quagmires, had guests applying the factor 50 in the 40 degree heat. However, unbelievably, I avoided the snow! It’s been an amazing year and I’d like to thank all the couples who invited me into their lives to share their special day, along with their families and friends. My favourite images from 2012 are below and I’d love to hear which ones are your favourites

Wow Lyndsey, there’s some seriously lovely images there. Great work.
That’s the most lively collection of images I’ve seen in a while. Expressive, intriguing, emotive, and with a finely controlled absurdist streak! Like very much.
so, so, so good. really enjoyed it. so much humour and love.
Lovely. Lovely. Lovely.
Very probably the best Best of 2012 I’ve seen.

Lovely, lovely work. This has a timeless elegance about it that’s immensely appealing.
Wow, these are amazing Lyndsey. I love how you see things, shoot through things, capture kids so cutely and capture light. Your still my favourite female documentary wedding photographer. Very inspiring work. Love how you get so many that make you smile too.
Truly magical!
You have such a distinct visual voice, Lyndsey, and it speaks with great generosity of spirit of your clients’ wedding days.

Not good. Brilliant
Crackin’ work!
Great images, Lyndsey. Wishing you an equally good 2013.
Great work Lyndsey, looking forward to seeing what 2013 brings you!
There are some excellent pictures here, well done Lyndsey! There’s a touch of the Martin Parr in there, I particularly like the shot of the man’s hand covering the little girl’s face. Original ideas well conveyed, not just the familiar stuff we see time and time again. When I see work like this I am reminded that there is a need for good, intelligent reportage photography out there.
What a year! Stunning work Lyndsey.
Thank you for including some photos of our wedding in this selection!! You are such a wonderful photographer and lovely lady! Hoping there will be another occasion coming up that we can ask you to photograph Xxx thanks again for all you did
