Orchardleigh House Wedding

Orchardleigh House Wedding // Mel & Rob

Somerset wedding venue Orchardleigh House is a magnificent Victorian stately home, and was the setting for Mel and Rob’s November wedding. The day they got married was crisp and unbelievably bright, not to mention unbelievably cold, with a mist hovering just above the ground giving the whole place a slightly ethereal feel, like something from a film. Both Mel and Rob got ready at Orchardleigh, and fortunately it’s a big enough venue that they avoided bumping into each other in the corridors. I was fortunate to have fellow documentary wedding photographer, Stephen Bunn covering this wedding alongside me, so whilst I stayed at the house to capture the girls helping Mel into her dress, Steve photographed the boys’ lunch and headed up to church to capture the guests arrival and an anxious looking Rob. The ceremony itself was held in the tiny church on the estate, which was packed to the rafters with family and friends of the couple. After the ceremony, it was back to Orchardleigh for canapes and champagne in front of roaring log fires. Dinner followed soon after, as did speeches. The couple opened the dance floor and it filled up pretty quickly, and I imagine it stayed full until the early hours. You can see some of my favouites from Mel and Rob’s Orchardleigh House wedding below, and some of Stephen’s here

  1. Wow, I like your photography skills. Everything is perfect in these wedding photos, and especially light which you used in photos.
