21 Jan 2014 – A Year of Wedding Photography
BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY OF 2014
2014 has flown by. It only seems like 5 minutes since I was sat at my desk picking out images for my Best of 2013 post. And yet here I am, downing endless cups of tea and trying to whittle down my favourite images of this year to a relatively manageable sized blog post.
My first wedding of 2014 took me to the far west of windswept Cornwall, for Amber and Nathan’s cliff top wedding, and my last wedding of 2014 took place at Hampton Court Palace, where I photographed Sir Ben Ainslie and Georgie Thompson marry in an intimate, candle lit ceremony. In between, I photographed amazing weddings in venues all over the country. From marquees in chocolate box Oxfordshire villages to BAFTA 195 on London’s Piccadilly. A boutique hotel in the shadow of Bolton Abbey to the chapel where Anne Boleyn and Thomas Cromwell are buried.
I photographed a wedding in the surreal Welsh town of Portmeirion, and a wedding which took place on stage at London’s Royal Festival Hall as part of the Festival of Love. A wedding where the resident church cat presided over proceedings and a wedding where the local farmer, harvesting his field, took the bride for a spin in his tractor.
2014 was also the year I went to Istanbul to do some street photography with an insanely talented group of photographers, The 8 Street (you can see what we got up to over on the 8 Street blog later this year), was fortunate enough to have my work recognised by the Wedding Photojournalist Association again, taking 6th place in the Musicians and DJs category, and shortlisted for Wedding Photographer of the Year (London and South East) in the Wedding Industry Awards. All in all, it’s been a pretty great year.
I’ve loved every wedding of 2014, and as ever I am so grateful to the couples who chose me to document their day out of the vast pool of photographic talent out there. So to every bride and groom, their families, and friends, thank you for making me so welcome at your weddings this past year. To you, the lovely readers of my blog, these are my favourite images from my 2014 weddings. Hopefully you’ll have the endurance to make it through the entire post…
Happy 2015!

Posted at 11:32h, 22 JanuaryI was really looking forward to seeing your ‘best of 2014’, and you’ve not disappointed! So many amazing shots, real moments that would go missed by so many other photographers. Love the shots of the legs sticking up from the sofa, and the guy adjusting his braces with the painting in the background 🙂
