Paradise by way of way of Kensal Green Wedding // Hoa & Gabriel
Hoa & Gabriel’s Paradise by way of Kensal Green wedding was a whole riot of colour and fun. The day started off in central London with a ceremony at the incredibly beautiful Fitzrovia Chapel. This grade II listed building used to be the chapel of the former Middlesex Hospital. It’s now a beautifully preserved and restored venue that hosts weddings and other events. The interior is like a little jewelled box, covered in mosaic and with high stained-glass windows.
My coverage started at Fitzrovia Chapel with the guests arriving, before Hoa herself. Despite it being August, the ushers had to escort the bridal party in with umbrellas. Such is the British summertime. The chapel was never consecrated, so weddings held there are not of the religious variety. Gabriel and Hoa had their friend perform the ceremony for them, and he made it personal and funny.
Following the ceremony, everyone made their way to Paradise by way of Kensal Green. This is a great pub to hold a wedding reception, and the spaces are all unique. They had hired the entire pub so drinks were enjoyed in the bar, dinner in the dining room, and later, drinks, dancing and cake on the upper floors. The decor of the pub is really appealing, with shabby chic paint, unique antiques and lots of interesting rooms. This is great for a wedding where there are different age groups, as those who want to party can do so, whilst those who want to sit and quietly chat can do so easily. There was also lots of space for the kids to play games. Such an enjoyable day, some favourites are below.
