Stour Space Wedding // Christi & Erik
I absolutely loved Christi & Erik’s Stour Space wedding, so why it’s taken me almost two years to show it on my website is anyones guess. Let’s go back to September 2018, where I started the day with Christi & Erik at their flat in east London. Just the two of them, getting ready together, a few tumblers of champagne and then a taxi to the ceremony. Christi’s utterley fabulous gold sequinned jumpsuit turned the taxi into a mirrorball disco. If only all journeys across London could be so cool.
Stour Space in Hackney Wick was once a disused building, and the local community has turned it into a multi functional venue providing studio spaces, meeting spaces, and a cafe, and hosts exhibitions, events, markets, workshops, and in the case of Erik & Christi, weddings.
The couples closest friends were there, plus Christi’s family from USA and Erik’s from Sweden. The ceremony was performed by Christi’s brother whilst the guests looked on, sat at long tables where dinner would later be served. After a few glasses of champagne on the riverside deck, everyone tucked into sharing platters, and once they’d eaten it was onto the speeches. Both sets of parents did a joint speech, talking affectionately about their kids, and giving Christi and Erik tips for the future and reasons why they loved them. I may or may not have had a few tears pricking my eyes.
As the sun set over London, there were Swedish drinking games and cigars. Not many of my brides go in for the ”daddy daughter” dance tradition; Christi and her dad, Ed, did, but they made it their own, rocking out to air guitars.
Christi & Erik are a creative, unique, & fun couple, so it was natural that their Stour Space wedding would be a reflection of that. I can only apologise that it’s taken me so long to bring them to the blog.
Christi & Erik also featured in my Best of 2018 post, be sure to check it out!

“Lyndsey – holy shit!!!! Not exaggerating when we say we’ve watched this around 35 times – we’ve sent it to our family, they all cried. We’re blown away, thank you so much -you’re incredible. Our family affectionately calls you ‘the ninja’ because you were everywhere, so stealthily. We can’t thank you enough for these memories – we’ll treasure them forever. “
