Ruffynes Barn Wedding // Kent Weddings
A Ruffynes Barn wedding at this characterful and cosy venue nestled in the Kent countryside. This ancient barn is family owned and situated in their garden, so there’s a lovely homely feel to it; it’s a perfect place for a relaxed, DIY wedding. The barn was decorated with handpicked flowers, twinkling fairy lights and brightly coloured bunting. My day started at Ruffynes with the guests arriving and the odd drop of rain, despite it being the last day of July. Lizzie arrived looking super cute in a short 50’s dress and bright pink heels, and the ceremony got underway, with some beautiful violin playing by the couples’ friends. Afterwards, the afternoon was spent with drinks and hijinks in the garden, the occasional downpour, delicious canapés and some speeches. Following an amazing dinner by Sally and the team at Simply Kent Catering, pudding was served. Massive help yourself bowls of fruit, meringue and Simply Kent ice cream: their honeycomb flavour is just so good! Lizzie & Simon took to the floor for their first dance before being joined by their friends, and the dance floor lit up by glowstick adorned little people. This kind of relaxed wedding is perfect for my style of photography. Lots of characters to capture! Lizzie & Simon didn’t want their guests to have to pose or be directed, but wanted the fun and the atmosphere of the day capturing.
