Islington Metalworks Wedding
London is full of quirky and cool spaces to hold a wedding, Islington Metalworks being one such place. It has a rich history; in a former life it was the stables for the horses which pulled the trams for London transport, and is now a unique venue for weddings and filming. It’s a stone’s throw from Islington Town Hall, making the two venues a perfect combo for a laid-back North London wedding.
Sarah & Imran’s wedding couldn’t have taken place on a wetter day, but nobody cared; good company and good food usually takes your mind of rubbish weather, and if you have a happy couple at the heart of it, then a wet wedding can be a joyous occasion.
I started the day with Sarah & her friends at the nearby Islington Hilton, then it was on to Islington Town Hall for the ceremony in the grand council chamber. Once the ceremony was over, a brave handful of guests stood on the steps in the rain to chuck confetti, then it was on to Islington Metalworks for booze, some incredible vegetarian food, speeches and some amazing cakes, and of course, some dancing.
