Bury St Edmunds Farmers Club // Claire & Elliott

Claire and Elliott’s intimate wedding took place in August at Suffolk wedding venue, the Bury St Edmunds Farmers Club. Claire first got in touch with me when Elliott popped the question, having seen the photos I took at Erin and Indy’s Bradford Wedding, where Claire was a guest and also the chief cake baker. Having sampled one or two (OK maybe 3) of her cupcakes, I can confirm that she has excellent cake making skills. Claire got ready at the beautiful Angel Hotel, a boutique Georgian hotel in the centre of Bury St Edmunds, along with her mum, her sister and bridesmaids. The morning was relaxed, with the girls drinking champagne and painting each other’s nails. Elliott’s mum was in charge of the bride’s make up and she did a great job; Claire looked beautiful and very natural, and her make up complemented her vintage lace wedding dress perfectly. The moment Claire’s sister brought their dad into the room gave me one of my favourite photos of 2014 – it was an emotional moment for him, and subsequently set off Claire’s mum and the bridesmaids. Tissues all round. We strolled across the square to the town hall where Elliott waited nervously with his best man and their guests. The ceremony was, as most town hall ceremonies are, short and sweet and ended with the happy couple being showered with confetti and kisses from their family and friends. We took the short walk to the Farmers Club, via the park for some informal family portraits. Our timing was great as we made it there just as it started to rain. Champagne and canapés were enjoyed and in no time at all the sun came out and the guests spilled out into the garden. Dinner was a BBQ buffet, followed by a huge table laden with all manner of cakes and homemade desserts, each of which had been baked and brought by their guests. Lovely stuff. A couple of speeches and then it was on to the evening entertainment; more champagne and some Rockabilly girls to bring the dance floor to life. A great day at this Bury St Edmunds Farmers Club wedding, some favourites from Claire and Elliot’s day are below
