Best Wedding Photography of 2023

Authentic wedding moments

Welcome to my end of year roundup for 2023! This is the 12th year that I have put together a ‘Best of’ post, a collection of my favourite moments from the past year’s weddings. I call it my ‘Best Wedding Photography of 2023’, a grandiose title, I’m aware. Also, not strictly accurate, as ‘Best’ is very subjective. Perhaps better to call it “Things I Saw at Weddings in 2023 That Made Me Smile, Moments That Were Unique To Those People, At That Time, In That Place, On That Day.” Not quite as catchy.

2023 was the year that things finally got back on track in terms of weddings. We had the barren landscape of 2020, the full restrictions/no restrictions pendulum of 2021, then the all-out madness of 2022, with two years’ worth of backed-up weddings. 2023 was more steady. More familiar. Plenty of weddings at my usual London venues (Wilton’s, Trinity Buoy Wharf, Clapton Country Club, and The Asylum), as well as some truly lovely spots in the UK, and a sun-soaked wedding in the south of France.

A great year on the awards front, too. Top 50 Photographers in the World // WPJA, Best 100 Photographers in the World // ISPWP (and number 1 in the UK for this one!) and the Top 10 Photographers in the World for Masters of Wedding Photography. Every photo in this post is unposed, unprompted, and 100% in the moment.

Strap yourselves in, as this is the longest ”Best of’ post I’ve ever done. Maybe I’m becoming more indecisive, maybe more sentimental. Who knows. If I photographed your wedding in 2023, a zillion thanks for inviting me to document your day, your love, your families, and your friends.

I honestly cannot express the amount of joy that filled my heart looking through the images. There were loads of moments you captured that I remember from the day, but there were so many other moments that I had no idea were going on that I now get to relive through your unique and beautiful perspective. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for being the best wedding photographer I could have ever dreamed of. We appreciate your kindness, remarkable work ethic, and amazing soul. Until the next time we see you, please keep being the queen of documentary-style wedding photography that we adore.

  1. Bloody hell dude….in total agreement with the quote at the top, you’re most definitely the Queen! An absolutely brilliant, and inspiring, round-up, remind me to ask you how you got certain shots…Looks like you had a lot of fun as well (one of those weddings looked absolutely NUTS – I’m sure you know which one!!). Wishing you an equally great year, and already looking forward to seeing what you see in your 2024 round-up x

  2. Wow Lynsey, just epic! I love how you can make any normal situation look like artwork. Your eye for detail is outstanding as ever, images that most would overlook (the phone on the side playing sport below the no phones sign ) are taken to the next level. Well done on all your awards, totally deserved!

  3. Such an amazing and inspiring collection as expected. Really enjoyed looking through this. It was so good to finally meet and work with you last year! Here’s to another stellar year!

  4. We cannot wait to look through your Best Of each and every year, Lyndsey. This is another stellar collection – incredibly inspiring. Loved looking through every image, every perfect composition. The quiet moments to the chaotic, every one – so good.

  5. Tremendous, as always. Fun, happiness, humour, the lot. My faves, for what it’s worth: the ironing; passing the wine over the table chaos; kid on the church floor; and the woman’s hand in the man’s face (still can’t quite figure this one out). You’re the market leader. Keep up the ace work.
