Elmley Nature Reserve Wedding

Elmley Nature Reserve wedding

This outdoor wedding at Elmley Nature Reserve was the most beautiful mash up of Dominic’s Iranian heritage & Kemmi’s West Indian heritage, in the breathtaking natural wilderness of a little island in North Kent. It was beautifully styled with a rustic, Bohemian look, a humanist ceremony overlooking the marshes, and a traditional Sofreh Aghd.

Everyone got ready on site and when it was time for the ceremony Kemmi walked down the aisle with both of her parents. Honouring both parents in this way was a beautiful tribute to them. You’d be hard pushed to find a more serene landscape in which to say your vows, with views across the marshes and endless skies.

I don’t think I’ve seen a more amazing spread of food for the reception nibbles. Middle Eastern food is perhaps my favourite (a toss up between that and Indian), and the mezze grazing table was a feast for all the senses.

Dinner took place in the main Elmley Nature Reserve barn, with some emotional speeches and a video message from Jeremy Corbyn, no less. On to the party, which was a riot. Ain’t nobody got moves like Dominic’s dad, that’s for sure.

Kemmi and Dom’s wedding at Elmley Nature Reserve was an absolute dream to photograph. Great people, great vibes, great music, great food. Their dream team of suppliers are all listed at the end of the post, along with some more outdoor weddings. You can also see more of their wedding on the Love My Dress website.

Yoghurt Rooms Wedding

Lyndsey captures the real smiles, the love, the special moments and intimacy, rather than the bog standard awkward smiles, and forced “cheeses”. She understood the beauty of the location, the individuality of our guests, who we are as a couple and brought all of that to life in her photography. She read our wedding and then gave us the gift of capturing it forever, for us to come back to time and time again.
