Wedding Photography at Poundon House – Jaswinder & Andy

Poundon House Wedding // Jas & Andy

Jaswinder and Andy got married at Poundon House in a day filled with laughter. From the vintage ice-cream tricycle to the Dhol drummers, from the piñata to the bottles of hard liquor on each table at dinner, every detail had been thought of to ensure the day was great fun from start to finish. Poundon House is a privately owned country house in Oxfordshire, and I always enjoy photographing weddings here. It has a lovely old stone terrace for outdoor ceremonies, which had been decorated  by florist Love From Katie, with little jam jars of flowers tied to the chairs, and a huge marquee pitched in the garden for the wedding breakfast and the party. Jas had enlisted the help of Laura from Love, Laura Wedding Planning who ensured the day flowed perfectly. Jas and her bridesmaids got ready at the house and watched from the window as the guests began to arrive for the ceremony. A little stroll through the gardens took us to the terrace where Andy and their guests waited to catch a first glimpse of the bride, who was beaming from ear to ear and spent most of the ceremony smiling and/or in fits of giggles. I do love a happy bride! Once the couple were married, they exited through a volley of confetti and everyone hit the ice-cream trike for a scoop or two of something delicious (I had a little tub of coconut ice cream and it was divine). Once it was time for dinner, everyone moved into the marquee where the couple were lead in to the amazing sound of two Dhol drummers; amazing, rhythmic music which lead to an impromptu dance from some of Jas’s family. Dinner was served, wonderful Indian fare – my absolute favourite at a wedding – and the bottles on the tables cracked open. A shot of Jagermeister with your jalfrezi?! On to the speeches, a lovely mix of laughs and emotion, which saw a few tears from Jas, particularly during her brother’s speech. The evening celebrations kicked off with a photo booth provided by Say Fromage, and some games in the garden, including a piñata. Booze, blindfolded guests and a large stick could’ve spelled disaster, fortunately only the piñata got bashed and very funny it was too. The cake was cut and the band, the brilliant Sugar Kube, got everyone on the dance floor. A great Poundon House wedding, some favourites from Jas and Andy’s day are below
