Lime Wood Hotel Wedding // Caroline & Troy

As a London wedding photographer, I don’t travel down to Hampshire all that often, yet I was there twice in one week back in July, first at the lovely Burley Manor Hotel, then a few days later a few miles down the road at the stunning Lime Wood Hotel. This Regency country house, which was originally established as a hunting lodge back in the 13th century, is a Mrs and Mrs Smith Hotel and boy, I can see why. It was the setting for Jamie Cullum and Sophie Dahl’s wedding back in 2010, and Noel Gallagher married Sara Macdonald there in June 2011. The air was filled with the smell of Jo Malone fig and cassis candles (my very favourite smell) when I arrived on a gloriously sunny Thursday to photograph Caroline and Troy’s wedding. It was all go, with the girls getting ready in one room and the boys in another, including Caroline and Troy’s adorable son Dexter who cut a dash in his tiny suit and Converse. There was an air of anticipation in the Orangery whilst we waited for  Caroline, who looked stunning, and to my mind a cross between Grace Kelly and January Jones (Betty Draper in the excellent Mad Men). After a beautiful ceremony, everyone spilled out onto the lawns to enjoy canapes and champagne and soak up the sun. It was then on to the wedding breakfast and speeches. It was evident from the speeches just how close this couple and their two families are. There was a lot of love in the room and it was a privilege to witness it. On to the evening celebrations, espresso martinis all round to get the party started , and the couple hit the dancefloor. It was not long before everyone joined them, and as I left the party was in full swing. A gorgeous couple and a great day, some favourites from their Lime Wood Hotel wedding are below
