Dodmoor House Wedding // Katie & Paul

Dodmoor House is a rather fantastic wedding venue in Northamptonshire and was the setting for Katie and Paul’s wedding earlier this year. The 400 year old barns at Dodmoor have been converted and are now incredibly stylish and modern looking, making them the perfect venue to host both the ceremony and reception. The service was also top notch; the supremely helpful Carolyn was in charge on this particular day, and made sure the day ran like a dream. Katie and her bridesmaids got ready at her parents’ house before heading off to Dodmoor House for champagne, getting into their dresses and peeping excitedly out of the curtains to see who was arriving. After the ceremony, everyone headed onto the lawns for drinks and canapes. Their wedding day was one of the handful of dry days we have had this summer, so being able to enjoy the outside space was great. The wedding breakfast was in the gorgeous Catesby Barn, and was served before the speeches. Paul’s dad was his best man, which as Paul noted in his speech was because he really was his best friend. This was one of the most touching things I have ever heard at a wedding and gave me a little lump in my throat. Coffee was taken in the courtyard to make the most of the warm evening and the last of the sun, and cigars were enjoyed by the boys (and some of the girls). The band started up and Katie and Paul took to the dance floor for their first dance. They weren’t alone up there for long as family and friends piled on to join them. An amazing couple, it was a real pleasure to spend the day with them, their families and friends.

  1. Too many cracking images here Lyndsey – bridesmaids seeing the bride, old lady beautifully lit, the nose picker (!), and loads of lovely little moments that the couple will really really treasure. Lovely stuff.

  2. Beautiful work as usual Lyndsey- I love the sequence of bridal prep shots, and loving Gran puffing on a cigar too! 🙂
