CREWE HALL WEDDING // MONICA & ANDREW
A Crewe Hall wedding on the blog today. Crewe Hall is a majestic building steeped in history, and was the setting for Monica and Andrew’s Indian wedding this summer. The day was a full one, with preparations starting at 7am. First up was a civil ceremony, complete with kilts and a piper in recognition of Andrew’s Scottish roots. Whilst the guests enjoyed a traditional lunch, the couple got changed ready for the Hindu/Gujarati ceremony. This colourful ceremony is full of rituals, and is incredible to witness from start to finish. I could write pages and pages on it, and for those of you who are curious to know more, you can read more about it here. Following this ceremony, a third and final change of clothing for the couple, incredible Indian canapes in the grounds (I think I ate twice my body weight in chili paneer), then dinner and speeches. The dancing was a lot of fun, starting with a traditional ceilidh followed by Bhangra, which had the dance floor literally jumping.
