The Union Club Wedding Photography

Initially this post started out showing photography from Helen & Duncan’s 2012 Marylebone Town Hall & The Union Club Wedding. Since then, I’ve photographed a number of weddings & parties at Soho’s Union Club and I’m one of their recommended photographers. This Soho private members’ club is such a great central London wedding venue. Very unassuming from the outside, painted dark red and nestled between the bars and restaurants on Greek Street, the inside is an eclectic labyrinth of higgledy piggledy rooms filled with unique art, open fires, and comfy sofas. So this post has now been updated to showcase more Union Club Wedding Photography. Poppy & Pete’s relaxed winter wedding, Lotte & Alex’s Fitzrovia Chapel ceremony/Union Club reception wedding, plus a few from Eileen & David’s summer do, and a few from the original post, Helen & Duncan’s wedding way back in spring 2012. If you’d like to read more about what makes this one of London’s Best Wedding Venues, head to my definite guide – Union Club Weddings.

“A cosy private members’ club in the heart of Soho, packed full of eclectic art, 60’s furniture, open fireplaces, and oozing cozy charm”

Winter Wedding at Marylebone Town Hall & The Union Club

Poppy & Pete had a very informal wedding at Union Club in Soho. The ceremony took place in the Westminster Room at Marylebone Town Hall before heading into Soho. The guests took a Routemaster whilst Poppy & Pete travelled in their friend’s 1973 gold Mercedes. There were whoops and cheers the length of Greek Street as they arrived outside The Union Club. There was no sit down dinner, just lots of canapés and delicious bowl food, which created a laid back atmosphere. They had speeches upstairs in the dining room, and the party downstairs in the bar.

Fitzrovia Chapel Wedding & The Union Club Reception

Lotte and Alex’s wedding at Fitzrovia Chapel & The Union Club was a long time coming with a number of postponements and two venue changes. They booked me in 2020 for a 2022 wedding, but early in 2022, Alex was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo extensive treatment. There were a number of set backs and relapses, and they showed the most incredible tenacity and strength throughout. They were determined to still have their day when Alex’s health improved, and fast forward to February 2024, that day arrived. Lotte got ready at The Charlotte Street Hotel before a ceremony at the bejewelled Fitzrovia Chapel. Lotte’s sister sang as she walked down the aisle, and their friend, Siw, took the ceremony. Filmmaker friend Lars shot some Super 8 footage for them, too. After some celebratory drinks at Fitzrovia Chapel, it was on to Soho and The Union Club. They had drinks and canapés before a sit down meal in the dining room. Speeches were, understandably, emotional and both Lotte’s dad and Alex’s mum both spoke of the couple’s determination and love for each other that had got them through the most difficult of times. Amen to that. Downstairs for cake and a boogie. They had a traditional Norwegian Kransekake, a nod to Alex’s Viking roots, and Lotte got changed into a silver lamé mini dress. Channelling young Cher vibes, she looked every inch a Goddess. Their band, Claude and The Cosmonauts, were brilliant, and the tiny dance floor was packed all night.

Summer Wedding at Islington Town Hall & The Union Club

Eileen & David had their 2017 summer wedding ceremony at Islington Town Hall & took Routemasters into Soho for the reception at The Union Club. They had drinks in the downstairs bar and dinner and speeches in The Studio, a light and airy space filled with Pop Art paintings and distressed plasterwork walls.

Spring Wedding at Marylebone Town Hall & The Union Club Soho

Helen & Duncan had their wedding at Marylebone Town Hall and The Union Club back in spring 2012. They took Routemasters from the town hall to Soho, enjoyed a drinks reception in the bar, and dinner and speeches in the first floor Georgian dining room.
