Warren House Wedding // Suzie & Simon

Suzie and Simon’s Warren House wedding took place on a warm August day. It was a riot of colour and a fusion of cultures. Suzie is from Africa and Simon is from Asia, and it was important to them  both that their cultures and heritage featured in their day. Cue plenty of hot, tropical colours in the flowers and orders of service, and the bridesmaids all wore red, a lucky colour in Chinese culture. Suzie got ready at home, along with her bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboys, before a beautiful vintage car took her to Christ Church in New Malden for the ceremony. Vows spoken and register signed, it was back out into the warmth of the day, and after a confetti throw, an impromptu performance of traditional African singing and blessings from members of Suzie’s family. Afterwards, we headed over to Warren House where there was champagne, canapés and garden games such as croquet and giant Connect 4 to enjoy. Dinner was served and interspersed with speeches. Many of the guests stood up to say a few words, tell anecdotes and share memories of how they know the couple, which I always like to see at weddings, rather than just ‘the main players’ saying some words. It creates a lovely atmosphere and often there are stories or memories that are new to most people in the room, so there’s always a lot of laughter. The evening continued with the cutting of the cake, a lovely towering creation made by Leslie’s Cakes, and the couple’s first dance underneath twinkling fairy lights. Following that, the dance floor filled and the party really got started. A lovely day with a Suzie and Simon and their guests, some favourites from their Warren House wedding are below.
