Burley Manor Hotel Wedding // Amanda & David

Burley Manor Hotel is nestled into the lush green countryside of the New Forest, an area we frequented for family holidays when I was much younger, and have very fond memories of, the most vivid being my sister getting her hair chewed by one of the ubiquitous New Forest ponies. I digress. I knew when I first met Amanda and David that their day would be very special, and that to photograph it would be an honour. When I meet couples for the first time, I often ask how long they have been together, when was the question popped and by whom. Amanda and David have been together for over 20 years and have two incredibly warm and wonderful children who are both at university. A whirlwind romance this was not. The wedding day arrived, and untypically for this June, the sun shone and the sky was dotted with tiny white clouds. Amanda and daughter Emma got ready at the hotel , whilst David met the arriving guests. An emotional and very tender ceremony was followed by an amazing afternoon tea and champagne, croquet and giant Jenga on the lawn. Some informal speeches and the cutting of the cake, and it was on to Pimms and a BBQ. Music came courtesy of the very energetic and very talented wedding band Indie Killers, who had everyone on the dance floor and shaking it well into the night.
