Wilton’s Music Hall

Wilton's Music Hall

Why I love photographing weddings at Wilton’s Music Hall

  • The light is incredible and like something from a film set
  • It has so many original features, textures, and quirks and provides a perfect backdrop for my style of documentary photography
  • It needs no extra styling to make it look amazing
  • A technician is on hand to create the best lighting for all parts of the day
  • Guests love it and it shows!
  • The dance floor is perfect for party photography
  • It’s perfect for creative couples who want a wedding venue that has personality.

Wilton’s Music Hall is one of my favourite London wedding venues.. Behind an unassuming facade and tucked away on an alleyway in East London, its peeling pastel paint is the only thing that might pique your interest as you walk by. Don’t let the outside fool you into thinking there is not much behind that wooden front door: step inside the tardis, people! Wilton’s is a labyrinth of rooms with wonky floors and interesting names (Champagne Charlie Room being just one). The main auditorium where wedding ceremonies and the wedding dinner/dancing are held is, in my opinion, jaw-dropping. It’s almost otherworldly, like something from a film or a fairy tale. Moulin Rouge meets Alice in Wonderland. Whatever superlatives I use to describe it, I won’t do it justice. Hopefully, the photos below will go some way in showing you how magical weddings at Wilton’s Music Hall can be.

One of London’s most unique wedding venues. Wilton’s is almost otherworldly, like something from a film or a fairy tale. Moulin Rouge meets Alice in Wonderland.

Not many wedding venues can offer the same experience that Wilton’s Music Hall can. Photographing weddings there is a total joy. The venue is such a great playground to explore, and is the perfect backdrop for telling the stories I find on a wedding day.

Very few music halls are around today, and Wilton’s is the oldest surviving example in the world. It is a unique Grade II listed building and one of the most incredible places to hold your London wedding.

To the wonderful ninja that is Lyndsey! We cannot thank you enough for the absolutely spectacular photos! We are over the moon with them and are in awe of how many angles you took them from. You worked that hall like a true martial arts genius! We couldn’t have asked for or even dreamed of a better wedding photographer. We absolutely love them! You’ve captured the love and fun that was bursting out of Wilton’s so incredibly. I feel like we’re back there dancing all over again.
