Green Man, Norton Disney Wedding

Green Man, Norton Disney Wedding

Green Man, Norton Disney Wedding // Em & Tom

On a cloudless, ridiculously hot Monday in July, Emily and Tom gathered their nearest and dearest in a Lincolnshire pub garden for iced tea, Pimms, giant Jenga and a slap up lunch. Prior to this, they stood in a tiny chapel and said ”I do”. What better way to start the week than with a wedding?! Emily got ready at her mum’s house with her bridesmaids, before taking a VW camper van to Lincoln’s Bishop Grosseteste chapel where the ceremony took place. A sweet and emotional ceremony was followed by younger sister Ellen singing Leonard Cohen’s ”Hallelujah”, which left me with goosebumps and a major lump in my throat; what a voice. After confetti and congratulations, the wedding moved on to pretty village Norton Disney and its lovely pub, The Green Man. After weeks of horrid wet weather, it was such a joy to be outside in the sunshine, surrounded by cornfields and the birds singing. After lunch, it was back out into the garden for more fun and games, including the couple’s first dance; unique and a first for me as it took place not in a darkened room with disco lights, but in the beer garden, just before sunset, complete with live band. A joyful wedding and a really lovely couple. Some favourites from their day are below
